Ms. ÜRÜT graduated from METU as an Environmental Engineer. She completed her Master's Thesis on "EMS of Izmir Municipal Solid Waste Processing Facilities" at DEU.

She is a PhD candidate and works on "Traceability Approach for Sustainability".

She has a professional career of more than 25+ years on EEHS, ESG and GHG in various sectors including Textile (H&M), Crude Oil Pipeline (BP), Construction (TEPE İnşaat), Food (Türk Tuborg, Carlsberg), Automotive (MAHLE), White goods manufacturing (Indesit & WHIRLPOOL). She currently serves organizations as Tutor and Consultant (ISG, CS Systems, Konveyör A.Ş., ÇMO, Teleset Group, SGS, Kocaer Çelik, CFE, BEYSAD and Swiss Approval).

Mrs. ÜRÜT is a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, 14001, 22301, 45001 & 50001 standards and a Greenhouse Gas Verifier for ISO 14064-1-2-3 standards. It provides professional services regarding CDP, SBTI, CBAM, LCA, GRI, ESRS and TSRS reporting.

Hasan Çakır is a Supply Chain and Sustainability expert with over 35 years of experience across the FMCG and white goods industries.

He began his career at Marsa Kraft and later held senior leadership roles at Indesit, Whirlpool, and Haier, leading end-to-end supply chain and transformation initiatives.

He has established supply chain structures for large-scale manufacturing plants and led multiple SAP transformation programs.

Currently, he advises companies on improving supply chain performance through data-driven methodologies, with expertise in carbon footprint, CBAM, CDP, LCA, and SBTi.

He enables organisations to build low-carbon, compliant, and resilient supply chains.

Semra AKARGÜN
Mechanical Engineer

Consultant – Tutor

Ms. Akargün graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 1992 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Between 2014 and 2016, she completed her postgraduate studies in ‘Industrial R&D and Technology Management’ at University of Warwick.

She has over 30 years of professional experience in R&D and product management, primarily in the home appliances industry.

She began her career as an R&D Engineer at Bosch Thermotechnik (heating systems), and continued in specialist roles at Indesit Company (cooling appliances). In 2004, she was appointed as R&D Manager at Indesit Company’s Manisa plant. In 2015, she took on roles within Whirlpool Corporation, covering platform (product) management across Turkey, Italy, and South Africa and coordination of Manisa R&D center.

Between 2020 and 2023, she served as R&D Director at Silverline (built-in kitchen appliances), contributing to the company’s achievement of ranking among the top 5 in the “Innovation Strategy” category of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) InovaLIG program in 2022.

In 2024, she worked as R&D and Engineering Director at Kaplanlar Cooling (industrial refrigeration cabinets), after which she concluded her full-time professional career.

Throughout her career, she has worked in coordination with international teams, leading the establishment, structuring, and transformation of R&D centers, as well as managing end-to-end product development and cost improvement projects. She has also taken active roles in national and international R&D incentive programs, strategy development and process management under Turquality, and sustainability reporting.

She has extensive experience in product development, product management, and project management, as well as in the establishment and leadership of R&D organizations, implementation of cost improvement programs, and coordination of national and international R&D incentives.

Currently, she continues her work with a focus on sustainability, supporting companies in transformation initiatives related to product development, innovation, strategic planning, organizational efficiency, and incentive projects.
